An Oklahoma Wedding
Carrie and Eric met at Oklahoma State University in 1986 at a Campus Crusade for Christ annual fall ministry kickoff party, but it wasn't love at first sight. It took Eric two years to get her attention and for Carrie to realized that he was more than "just a nice guy."
Their common love for exercise, good food, Oklahoma State sports, and the opportunity to help other people grow in their relationship with the Lord caused a friendship to quickly grow into a romance. The courtship ended on August 8, 1988 when Carrie Molloy changed her last name to Platner and made a covenant to put up with Eric and his silly little ditties for the rest of her life.
After more than 20 years of marriage and 6 kids, these two, who are very different in nature, continue to grow closer together as a couple and appreciate God's wisdom in bringing them together. They still have the same similar passions that brought them together, although they bemoan the fact that they have very little time to actually exercise any more.
